Manually Configuring formmail.pl to work with RealCart
Setting your web site as a valid referrer in formmail.pl
You will definitely need to verify that your site is defined as a valid referrer in formmail.pl before you will be able to use this script. If you have already attempted to install formmail.pl with RealCarts Publishing Wizard then the proper referrer may already be set. To find out what the current referrer(s) defined in the script just do this:
- Download and install EditPad Classic
- Start EditPad and Open formmail.pl
- Press CTRL + G on your keyboard to go to a specific line in EditPad
- Type 41 on your keyboard in the Go to Line dialog in EditPad
- Click the Lets Go button
- You will notice that line 41 reads:
@referers = ('www.yourdomain.com','255.255.255.255');
(or something similar) If line 41 of this file is not the referrers statement then you can scroll up or down from this point until you locate it.
- If the first referrer (the domain name) contains your sites domain name and the second contains your IP address just close the file or proceed to the next step if needed. The Referrer has already been properly set.
- If the domain name is wrong please change it. (Remember you should specify www. at the beginning as this is the way the domain name reads in your key file when you get it.)
- If the IP address for your domain name is wrong please change it. (If you dont know what it is click here to find out.)
- Be very careful to leave the 4 single quote marks in the referrers line intact. Only change the two items in blue as indicated above leaving the rest of the line alone.
- Save the file by pressing CTRL + S on your keyboard
- If this is the last thing you need to do upload it using WS_FTP LE
