Contact Info
The contacts that you define in your shopping cart will greatly affect how your customers (as well as RealCart Tech Support) can contact you when needed. Heres how to properly configure them for optimal results.
Contact #1
If you are setting up this store for someone else you still need to put YOUR INFO here. This is who RealCart technical support will contact if you ever need assistance with the software or if RealCart customer service needs to contact the webmaster for any reason.
Name: This is a required field and should contain the name of the person setting up the software (you.) This contact must be configured using YOUR actual name. You may elect not to publish this contact but it still must be defined (entered into the software). If you do elect to publish this information it will appear as simply Webmaster regardless of what you enter in the name field. The name field is for the benefit of RealCart tech support only. Subsequent contacts should contain the name of the Store Owner or one of their staff.
Email Address: This is a required field and should contain the email address of the person setting up the software (you.) Email addresses are required on all subsequent contact entries.
Phone Number: This is an optional field and should contain the telephone number of the person setting up the software (you.) As stated earlier you can select whether or not to publish this contact to the on-line store.
IcQ Number: This is an optional field and should contain the IcQ number of the person setting up the software (you.) If you do not know what an IcQ number is then you do not have one and should leave this field blank. If you do have an IcQ number you can simply select it in the pull-down menu.
Configure the rest of the contacts below with the store owner (and or their staffs) contact information.
Contact #2
This is the contact reserved for your customer service person/department. This email address will show up as the default email address for the store. In the RealCart help screen this contact will appear with email address and telephone number (if a telephone number was entered.)
Contact #3
This is the contact reserved for your order fulfillment person/department. This email address will show up as the email address for questions about orders that have been placed. Any telephone number entered here will also be shown on the RealCart help file as the order information line.
Contact #4
This is the contact reserved for your actual order emails. When somebody places an order on your web site this is the address that the order will get sent to unless you are using a secure order provider. If using the default UNIX or NT payment forms this is the address where the cart order email will go. If using the default UNIX or NT payment forms and you are not getting the orders from your web site, double check that you have an email address defined for this contact and that you can actually receive email for this contact.
Contact #5
This is the contact reserved for your eBay emails. When you list a product for sale on eBay, notify a winning bidder or do any other eBay related task the email address defined in this contact will be used.
If you will not be selling on eBay you can leave this contact blank.
Contact #6
This is the contact reserved for your Toll FREE phone number. If you have a Toll FREE telephone number this is the place to put it. It is not important to have an email defined here but you can if you want to.
Contact #7
This is the contact reserved for your Fax number. If you do not have a fax number (or do not wish to use it on your store) leave this contact info blank.
Contact #8 - ...
RealCart is able to accept an unlimited number of contacts. Only seven are directly supported in the templates but you can add more by adding tags to your templates as described here.
