Local Files

The top two windows show lists of files. The “Local Files” window shows the store files that have been generated by the shopping cart that are on your “Local” computer. This list shows any sub folders you have including your images (/img) and the “codebase” folder (/jsXXX) that contains the actual shopping cart applet that gets placed on your web site.

Server Files

The “Server Files” window shows the store files that have already been published by the shopping cart (or FTPed with a third party FTP program, like WS_FTP that are on your “Local” computer. This list shows any sub folders you have including your images (/img) and the “codebase” folder (/jsXXX) that contains the actual shopping cart applet that gets placed on your web site.

Bottom Window

The bottom window shows all of the files to be published as well as any obsolete files to be removed from the server. When you click the publish button any files that are new will be published (uploaded) to your web server and any files that already exist on the server that have a newer counterpart on your local PC will be updated. Finally any files that no longer exist in your store will be deleted from the server as the publishing takes place.

The status bars in the middle of the wizard screen will show the progress of each individual file as well as the progress of the entire publishing operation.

If you want to only publish the newer files each time you publish your store remember to say “No” when prompted to rebuild all pages.
